I have the original USB-C Battery Bank (100 wH) from the Indiegogo campaign, as well as the GaN 100 W charger from the Kickstarter campaign, and recently took them on vacation. My wife useD the battery bank because where we stay has few outlets for wired chargers. Once it ran out, I tried charging the battery bank from the charger, but it was taking forever — hours to just gain one bar. After getting home I put my Klein Tools USB meter between the charger and the battery bank, and the meter’s display kept flashing as the charging cycle continually restarted; the meter should be on full-time with the charging info on the display. After a while I determined the cord I was using — a ThunderBolt 3 — was the culprit. Using the original USB-C cable fixed it. I’d been ready to contact Hyper to have it replaced. My request: put small displays on the batteries and chargers to show the current charging rate(s). I’m lucky to have the Klein meter, without it I’d have unnecessarily returned/exchanged the charger thinking it was bad. An e-ink display would be perfect.
