To fix issues with a self-assigned IP address, or to solve other network issues, we recommend doing the following:
- Shut down the computer
- Unplug the modem from power
- Wait 30 seconds
- Plug the power back in
- Wait for the network to return
- Power on your computer.
If this does not work, please try the options below
For Mac computers
- Add a new "USB 10/100/1000 LAN" network
- Reset the SMC/PRAM/NVRAM (https://hypershop.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044479932-Having-connectivity-or-charging-issues-using-HyperDrive-on-your-MacBook-Read-here-)
- Renew the DHCP lease (if the network is connected but there's an issue)
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu (upper left-hand corner) > System Preferences, then click Network.
- In the list on the left, select the network service that needs a renewed IP address.
- Click Advanced, click TCP/IP, then click Renew DHCP Lease
For Windows computers
- Uninstall the drivers for the Hub (https://hypershop.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046244472-Having-connectivity-issues-using-HyperDrive-on-Windows-Read-here-)
- Renew the DHCP lease (if the network is connected but there's an issue)
- Press Windows and R key at the same time to open the Run box.
- Type CMD. Then, hit Enter.
- Type ipconfig /release (there's a space between the 'G' and the '/') in the Command Prompt window. Press the Enter key.
- Type ipconfig /renew(there's a space between the 'G' and the '/'. It is important not to miss this step). Press Enter.
For iPad
- Hard Restart the iPad (quickly press volume up, quickly press volume down, then press and hold the power button until the Apple logo appears).
