Due to Apple receiving numerous feedback about loose USB-C connections in earlier 2016/2017 MacBook Pro models, Apple decided to increase the tightness of USB-C ports in 2017 MacBook Pro and even more so in 2018 MacBook Pro models. Users will feel significant resistance in connecting HyperDrive to the 2017/2018 MacBook Pro for the first time, especially for in final 1mm of connection. It is perfectly fine to exert some pressure to make connection for the first time. Subsequent connections will be easier. We have tested ourselves many times and guarantee that your MacBook Pro will not be damaged in any way.

Hi, this video is of a 13in mac; are you able to confirm this is still the case for brand new 15 inch MacBook Pros that just came out? For instance I just got a brand new one MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), model identifier: MacBookPro15,3, literally ordered and received today. I am concerned because I saw some Amazon reviews mention broken ports so I'm just double-checking.
Following up on this; I ordered one myself and can confirm with a brand new MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), model identifier: MacBookPro15,3 that this device fit perfectly fine in the ports and everything works great. Not sure what the bad reviews on Amazon are about then, but I'm glad I just ordered directly from HyperDrive's store
